Similan 'Season' Thailand 2010/2011

Thailand offers the best diving in the world at the famous Similan Islands, here's a brief comment about dates. The Similan is a National Park in Thailand and as such closes from early May until late October or most boats starting back 'officially' in early November as to be sure the monsoons have moved on. So the very best time to visit the Similan's is November through to April and all the new schedules are listed on our website for all of the boats you see linked in the left hand column. Tip of the day: Book Early for Christmas & New Year trips as this is the most magical time to visit and spaces are limited.

Last Komodo Trip of the Season

Visiting Bali is a dream come true and teaming it with a Liveaboard trip will simply blow you away. You will visit the famous Komodo Dragons at the Komodo National Park and small villages on remote Islands surrounding Indonesia. You will see Mantas, sharks, turtles, dolphins, dugong, many pelagic, tiny pygmy seahorses, nudibranchs, frog fish to name only a few. This trip is suitable for families and none-divers as well as divers of all skill level.

We still have space on the last trip of the season for Komodo, Indonesia on the very impressive Queen Scuba Liveaboard. This was the Queen Scuba's first season in Komodo following in the great footsteps of both the Mermaid boats who have been there for many years.

These boats travel in Similan, Thailand during Nov-Apr and then head on over to Indonesia for trips May-Oct. The final spaces are on a trip departing 10-17 October for 7 days/7 nights in VIP Cabins at a discounted rate of 1275 Euro per person. A diving memory to last a lifetime

Having been in the diving industry now for more than a decade I have many amazing diving memories but there is one memory that stands out more than most and reappears over and over in my mind and that's my very first Liveaboard trip to the Similan Islands in Thailand. I was with my tech diving husband who was off doing 100m dives with a tech diving friend in prep for a bigger dive later that year so I was thrown in with a group of people I had never met and teamed with a buddy I knew nothing about and I was kind of nervous. I was only an Advanced Open Water Diver at the time with around 50 dives but nothing could have prepared me for the sheer beauty I was about to encounter. Each dive with my new friends was like a mini-adventure we talked about all of the great marine life we had seen all day and during surface intervals we swam with the turtles off the back of the boat. Divers took hours of video and heaps of photographs which they shared each evening with the group and I met some of the most interesting and exciting people from all parts of the globe. Each had a story to share, each had a life outside of diving but all gelled together to enjoy that 5 days with each other without a bad word and plenty of laughter. Liveaboard diving was like another world to me and one I will cherish for the rest of my diving life, if there is one thing you do as a diver; its to take a Liveaboard. If you are looking for a diving memory to last a lifetime you will find it there for sure.
